Perth and the SFM are back from outreach!
We had an amazing time, producing resources designed to help bring the love of
Jesus to Muslims in Southeast Asia, many of whom have never heard the full
Gospel message. There were all sorts of oddities traveling (massively delayed plane on the way there, a cancelled plane on the way home) and lots of challenges and obstacles, but God came through every time.
We produced both an evangelistic drama and a mobilization documentary for our target audience, caught some amazing footage, and met some wonderful people along the way.
Some
of the highlights of our team include:
•
Meeting the local believers who helped us by being actors and providing props,
costumes and locations for our dramatic video
•
Getting a group of local children to knock over a man carrying chickens as part
of our evangelistic film (all actors of course)
•
Visiting an intensely beautiful waterfall (two of them, actually) during an
amazing hike around one of the areas that we stayed at
•
Filming important scenes at unusual locations, including a rushing river and
out on the streets of the area we were staying in
•
Finding a replacement actor for a small but crucial role in our evangelistic
film when our original choice was suddenly unavailable
•
Having the time to make each shot beautiful, and discovering whether the way to do
that was to handhold the camera, put it on a tripod, or use a monopod,
mini-dolly, jib, or steadicam.
•
Getting the material we needed for three different language versions of the evangelistic film which
will eventually be available for many different Muslim groups in Southeast Asia
Enjoy
some more photos of our time!

These kids, playing school children, were amazing!
The cameraman chases the actors down the local road...

...right into this village man, carrying an armful of chickens!
Filming the Holy Scriptures (that's the New Testament)
Checking out the local plant life during a location scout

Our cameraman went wherever necessary to get the shot!
(Yes, that camera is upside down on a monopod)

One of the real life local characters!
